Florida ranks seventh in price appreciation as stability returns to housing

house moneyHome price appreciation for the year ended in September ranged from 10.4 percent in Colorado to -0.9 percent in Mississippi, CoreLogic said Tuesday. Florida’s 7.8 percent appreciation ranked seventh.

The national average was 6.4 percent, and CoreLogic sees a return to the staid appreciation stats of yesteryear.

“After nearly 10 years of very high home price volatility, home price increases have been remarkably stable for the last 15 months, ranging between a 4.8 percent and 6.5 percent year-over-year increase,” said Sam Khater, deputy chief economist for CoreLogic.
