Remodeling the kitchen? Zillow Digs offers its latest in kitchen trends:

Hot: Two-toned kitchen cabinets
“Homeowners are starting to take bigger design risks in the kitchen,” Zillow Digs says. “Expect to see a rise in tuxedo, or two-toned, painted cabinets where the top and bottom doors are painted in complimentary colors such as navy blue and soft gray or beige.”

NotSpeckled granite
“Homeowners are no longer limited to granite, which can stain and can be hard to maintain,” Zillow Digs says. “Brown and tan speckled granite, specifically, is phasing out as more countertop materials and styles become available. Quartz, marble and even butcher block are rising in popularity.”

Hot: Hidden appliances
Sick of stainless steel, some are opting for microwave drawers and covered refrigerators, for a kitchen aesthetic that’s more approachable and comfortable.

Not: Short cabinets
Tall cabinets make a kitchen look bigger and brighter.

Hot: Wood paneling
No, not ’70s-style paneling. This time around wood paneling or shiplap is often painted in white. ZillowDigs calls the look “comfortable yet chic.”

Not: Dark brown colors
“Light and bright kitchens will only continue to pick up steam over the next year, meaning dark or cherry wood cabinets will continue to fade out of style,” Zillow Digs says.

Hot: Mixed hardware
Homeowners are “mixing and matching metals for a more eclectic look.” To pimp out their kitchens, designers are going for faucets and handles in gold, rose gold and black.
